One sad note… after assuring everyone their belongings would be safe in the Ballroom upon returning, one resident discovered their bottle of wine was missing. It is a sorry state of affairs when wine is more important than our friends in the community. I sure hope this doesn't happen again or that we will have to have table police at future events. Our upcoming Hoedown on Aug. 9 is shaping up into another fun event. Ticket sales have been good and plans are moving along very well. Doors will open at 4:30 pm and the buffet will start at 6 pm. The menu will be hoedown fare and should be good since it is coming from Thomas Catering which always gives us a good meal. Our entertainment for this event will be a square dance demonstration from the Calico Quails Square Dance club, the caller is Charlie Roberson and the club president is Beckie Moore. There will be dancing from 5 to 6 pm. This is a special treat that I am sure you really enjoy. For anyone that may be interested in learning this form of dancing they have new classes starting in September for a fee of $5. Please call Beckie at (909) 238-9721 for more information. An interesting fact that I just learned this week, Square Dancing is California's State official folk dance. It's true. Due to other commitments the Social Committee is down two members so anyone interested in joining this fun and hard working committee is invited to fill out an application, you can pick one up at the front desk. We always need help in decorating and clean-up so if this is something you might like to help with, you are always welcome. Just leave your name with a committee member or at the front desk and they will let us know.
