CLUBS & GROUPS | FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | AUGUST 2014 33 come one, come All! thE liGhts of oFF-oFF BroADWAy Are upon us! Aug. 26, at 6 pm in the Conference Room, we will be holding auditions for the next two Radio Shows, "My Favorite Husband" and another installment of "The Lone Ranger" to be performed on Oct. 10. All parts require auditions. A sign-up sheet is available in the Lodge lobby, across from the main desk. If you cannot make this time please contact Tom Shelley at tomshelley1@verizon.net or Sheldon Craig at syouel@earthlink. net to arrange an alternative. We would love to have new people join us. Aren't you tired of seeing and hearing the same people? If you are, either come'on down or convince a friend or neighbor to do so. We have rehearsals prior to the live show to iron out the kinks and there is NO MEMORIZATION! It's radio, we read directly from our scripts! lAuGh out louD shoW In September, PAC is hosting our "Laugh Out Loud Show." It will be a variety comedy show of old TV skits and stand-up acts. It's promising to be one of our best yet, and we still need your help. We're looking for funny people to help us out. We're not looking for you to do stand-up, unless willing, but just a single short, already written corny joke or two. Don't tell me you're not funny, 'cause I definitely know you're out there. There have been countless times I've been walking or sitting in the Lodge when I've heard roars of laughter coming from the Bistro or other rooms located there. There are many "funny people" out there causing all these hysterics and… WE WANT YOU! Please contact the Producer of "Laugh Out-Loud," Jane White, at jaws4me@verizon.net. yikEs, i'vE BEEn GonGED, and i lovED it! As part of the "Laugh Out-Loud" Show," Colin Taylor will be producing a skit based on the decades old TV show, "The Gong Show." If you have a silly GONG-able talent, please contact Colin at Colin@yorkshire-house.com Join in on the fun. DEck thE hAlls, JinGlE BElls, & more… Year-end holidays may seem distant to you, but not for The Four Season's Choir. First, thank you to everyone who stopped to tell Barbara Wasco, choir master and/or any choir members how they enjoyed the July 4th show and how much we've improved. Your feedback is appreciated. We would also appreciate your giving the choir a chance. Do you sing along to the radio in the car? in the shower? I am among the weakest voices, if not the worst. Yet, I am accepted, encouraged, and part of a fun group of men and women that enjoy singing. Think about it… we start rehearsals again for the Holiday Show just after Labor Day. Contact Barbara at bawasco@dc.rr.com and strongly consider joining this wonderful group of folks. Th..th..th..that's all folks! Questions? Contact me at terimk@ verizon.net. ~ Teri Meyers-Kelman Performing Arts Club Amphitheater Group What do two violins and one cello make? Beautiful music together on Sunday, Aug. 17, at 7 pm at the Amphitheater! Renowned musicians from The San Bernardino Symphony Orchestra will be playing a wide variety of music selections for our enjoyment. Circe Diaz-Ganero, plays the cello and is originally from Venezuela. She has been with the symphony for five years. To see her perform is a treat in itself. Colleen Coomber, a native of Los Angeles, has played the violin since age six and is the symphony's Assistant Concertmaster. Tom Sender, also from Los Angeles, has played the violin with the symphony since 2003. This Trio will combine their marvelous talents and give us an exceptional evening under the stars. Be sure to put this free event on your calendar now, so you won't forget it. That night, interested residents will have the opportunity to sign up for the symphony. For 2014-2015 concerts, (individual concerts events), $35 tickets will be available for $25. In addition, reduced season tickets starting at $70 per person for the five concert series will be offered the evening of the Amphitheater. Go to www.sanbernardinosymphony.org for more information on their upcoming season. Representatives from the symphony will be here that evening with brochures. They will be able to answer your questions, take your names and phone numbers for interest, and your checks for actual concert tickets sign-up. Approximately 10 to 15 residents took advantage of this offer last year, myself included. We had great seats and a wonderful music experience at a really good discount price. So don't forget to bring your checkbook along with your beverages and food for this wonderful opportunity. And remember it may be August, but it can cool down in the evenings so bring your sweaters or blankets, just in case. See you at the Amphitheater. ~ Penny McDonell
