| Four Seasons Hemet Herald | August 2014 | 6 Dear Four Seasons Residents, Every so often, I write about items that have been brought to my attention from residents wanting me to inform others. I have several for this month. The first one deals with the Legends Paseo walkways and the bicycle riders who travel on them. On the surface, this can be a hazard to both the rider and the pedestrian. Although our rules are silent on this particular activity, common sense should prevail. The sidewalks were meant for pedestrian travel and they are also used by our maintenance crews. Each resident has access to the streets and alleys so bicyclists should refrain from using the sidewalk for travel. There have been a few near misses with residents vs. bicyclists and we want to avoid this. If you ride on the walkways, sidewalks, etc., please think about riding elsewhere and at the very least, give the right-of-way to the person walking. The next one happened as I'm writing this. On June 25, the board of directors approved the replacement of the billiard table felt. The replacement was completed on Tues., July 8, in the afternoon. This is a regularly scheduled (every three years) maintenance item. The following day, the regular pool players asked me to take a look at one of the tables. I was surprised that I was looking at several gouges in the felt material, made by a cue stick, from persons unknown, who do not know how to properly use a cue stick. This happened less than 24 hours later! By the way, the felt replacement to our three tables cost the Association $1,090. We cannot determine if it was an adult or a younger person who did it. No one reported seeing it happen. We are monitoring the room but cannot watch it all the time. We are asking any residents who use the billiard tables to be mindful of proper use of the equipment. If you want to bring younger guests, please make sure they are tall enough to properly handle the cue sticks. If you observe someone misusing the cues or mistreating the equipment, please report it immediately to the Front Desk. In closing, I want to remind all residents of the importance of conserving water, obeying our speed limit signs, stopping at the stop signs, and pet owners who walk their dogs in the common areas to please pick up the droppings! I was brought up to always say "please" and "thank you" out of respect for elders. Now that I've said "please," I'll close with a big "thank you!" Happy August! A Message From Your General Manager By Rick Ruth, CCAM
