15 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | September 2014 | Hurray! The fence surrounding Lot "A" is finally in the books. We can pass the atta boys/girls around the horn. Lots of us had a hand in this project; from the folks on Lopez and Stephenson Streets, individual Four Seasons residents, cooperative land owners near the problem site of Green Acres, the Access Control Committee, the Facilities Committee, and ultimately the Four Seasons board of directors, who approved and funded the project. Although the fence is finally completed, we should still remain vigilant. We still need your eyes and ears to report any suspicious activity in that area to our security team. Our next challenge is to create a comprehensive fence monitoring program. This is important in that we don't want our fence to be tampered with. We would assume that our community will join in making sure we keep the bad guys away from our property. Chief Brown, of the Hemet Police Department was our guest at a Four Seasons Forum in July. Chief Brown is a seasoned, informative and intelligent executive. His primary theme had to do with quality of life issues facing our community. He grew up in Hemet and has kept his finger on the pulse of the city. He said that first and foremost his department is focused on a safe and sound community, one that you can be proud of. Again, they are focusing on prostitution, panhandling, car thefts, and burglaries to name a few crimes. Currently, traffic duties are handled by the California Highway Patrol through a year to year contract. This association with the CHP allows the police to concentrate on real police work. Needless to say, the Chief was well received by over 200 residents. He encouraged Four Seasons residents to call his department to report criminal activity. Although he is working with limited police resources, he is willing to attempt responding to our calls for service. Access Control Committee
