Our next meeting is Thurs., Sept. 18 at 1 pm in the Arts and Crafts Room. Lucia K. Wolfer will be our demonstrator and will show us techniques about "Preparing Images and Transferring Them Onto Various Surfaces." Watch for the flyers in the Lodge describing this demo. During this month, Howard Feigenbaum will exhibit his artwork on our lodge gallery wall while Kathy Anderson and Linda Luckerchine, will display their crafts in the cabinet. Come and enjoy the works of some of the very talented people in our community. In addition, a large model airplane display should be available for viewing in the Lodge in September and October. If you wish to exhibit either your art or crafts, please fill out the form and put it in the box in the Lodge. We will inform the people, who are chosen, three months in advance of their actual display. Starting in January, displays will be up for two months rather than one month. On Sat., Oct. 25, in conjunction with the car show, the fine artists of the league will have their annual show in the Ballroom, whereas most crafters will be outside under tents. Please contact Donna Holland (951) 492-8789 for information regarding the Fine Arts Show and Royce Jerman (951) 325-2549 regarding the Crafts Show. In addition, we will have a table with an art project, titled "Be a Part of Art," created by any of the residents who want to join in. The club will purchase a large canvas and any resident may sign their name, doodle, draw a picture etc., in a designated square with colored permanent magic markers. The finished canvas will be displayed in the Lodge. Four Seasons Art League 21 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | September 2014 | Our featured artist is Lucia K. Wolfer. Lucia is a retired teacher and is in the process of reinventing herself as a mixed media artist and jewelry designer. Having lived in Latin America for many years, and having traveled the world extensively, she is mostly drawn to multicultural, ethnic and indigenous perspectives. The color palette that she uses most often is that of earth and jewel tones. Lucia includes strong textural components in her artwork. She uses techniques and materials which are similar in both her wall art and jewelry (wearable art) including digital elements, 3-D components, polymer clay, fabric, leather, metal, and re-purposed found objects. Lucia with her husband, Ken, and dog, Barney, are very happy to be living in this great Four Seasons community! Our talented and experienced teachers offer many classes including acrylics, tole painting, tatting, memoir writing, watercolor, drawing, calligraphy, and more. The new calligraphy class will be taught for seven weeks by Carolyn Lebo (951) 240-2721 on Mondays, 1 - 3 pm beginning on Sept. 22. For information about these classes and upcoming workshops, check the clipboards and sign up in the Arts and Crafts Room.
