Fall reading allows you to forget about the heat of summer and escape into the cooler weather of fall. With the arrival of fall you can more easily submerge yourself into that special action/ mystery or romance novel and feel the enjoyment that it provides. All three of the Sun Lakes Libraries are full of "cool" reading for the fall season including such authors as Louis L'Amour, Robin Cook, Michael Crichton, Larry McMurty and James Patterson. There are many selections to choose from so hurry on over and find yours. The next Book Fair will be Oct. 31 through Nov. 1. We suggest that after you visit the Craft Fair, you should drop on by the Main Clubhouse Library and pick out a special cool fall read. Many of you who bought a book during the Fourth of July Book fair also received a free cookie. Well, you get another chance for a delicious, free cookie at the Fall Book Fair. I know that you can't wait. I can't either! Have you ever wondered how the libraries remain clean and organized? Have you ever thought to yourself how all of these books miraculously find themselves back on the shelves, ready for you to grab and take home? The answer is the Library Volunteers. They are a group of Sun Lakers who donate their time to keep our three libraries ready for you to visit and select your favorite book. If you would like to be a part of this group, please contact Jill Falat at 797- 3263 and say, "How can I become a volunteer?" It's easier than you think. Thanks for caring! Several of you have asked what they need to do to obtain a Library Card that allows them to "check out" a book. The answer is you are "on your honor" to borrow a book of your choice and return it to the same library from which it was borrowed. There are no library cards required to borrow a favorite book as long as you are a Sun Lakes resident. If you have any extra books that you would like to donate to the library, please drop them off at one of the wooden collection boxes located in each of the libraries. If you have any questions, contact either Peggy Inman at 845-8609 or Russ Anderson at 845-9414. Books being donated should be published in the year 2004 or later. Happy fall reading and we hope to see you soon exploring the world of fiction and non-fiction reading at one of our libraries! When should I call 9-1-1? 9-1-1 is ONLY to be used in emergency situations that require immediate assistance from the police/sheriff, fire department or an ambulance. If you are in doubt of whether a situation is an emergency you should call 9-1-1. It's better to be safe and let the 9-1-1 professional determine if you need emergency assistance. Examples of an emergency: difficulty breathing, chest or upper abdominal pain or pressure, fainting or loss of consciousness, unresponsive, seizures or convulsions, suspicious activity or burglary. Any questions regarding the above requirements, please call Robin at 769-6643.
