Saturday Morning Golf We have tournaments for everyone, plus closest to the pin for both men and women and trophies at year-end to club champions with the best gross score. Quarterly meetings will be in the Sandwedge. This is a fun group of men, women, couples and singles. The emphasis of this club is golf, but also fun — no stress! We are a 9-hole club on the Executive Course. We play weekly on Tuesday mornings with mixed play, fun scrambles and a monthly tournament. In addition, we participate with other clubs for 18-hole tournaments and "away games" a few times during the year. During the winter (October through June) we meet at 8:30 am with a tee time of 9 am. On the third Tuesday of the month is our monthly meeting and lunch ($10) at the South Clubhouse. Guests are always welcome! For lunch information, please contact Sue Foreman, 769-0882. We emphasize fun and socializing while striving to improve our game and become more familiar with the Rules of Golf. Come join us! As usual, it has been a busy year for us. At our May luncheon, we congratulated our 2014 Club Champion Joanne Dixon. Then, at the end of May, we enjoyed Mardi Gras at our Member-Guest Tournament. Our July luncheon included congratulations to Doris Beaudette, our 2014 Senior Club Champion. July 30 was our Annual Extravaganza with the Men's Club. August will bring the Sweepstakes Tournament and in September will be the three day Eclectic. We will initiate our Handicap Tournament which incorporates match play in September and October. Also, don't miss the 18/9ers Tournament on Oct. 30 and the Helen Taylor Memorial on Nov. 20. If you are looking for an enjoyable challenge on our championship course and the camaraderie of many golf "sisters," join us in the S.L.W.G.C. We play Thursday mornings and the first Saturday of the month. Tournaments are flighted and a $65 membership fee includes a W.S.C.G.A. sanctioned handicap. We are open to any male Sun Lakes resident interested in golf fun and camaraderie. The Executive Course features water that comes into play on several holes and ravines on holes 4 and 6 making this par- 60 course very challenging and fun. We play every Friday on the Executive Course with monthly tournaments on the third Friday of the month. Every week you can enter to win $ for closest to the pin. Our next tournament on Sept. 19 is a 4-Man Scramble format followed by lunch in the North Clubhouse. Tournament winners have $ credited to their accounts which can be used for purchases in the Pro Shop or Restaurant/ Lounge. New member forms are available in the North Pro Shop or EMGC website.
