9 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | October 2014 | Community Awareness Committee SAVE THE DATE: The Reinhardt Canyon Public Hearing is tentatively set for Oct. 29, time and place to be determined. The Riverside County Planning Department has penciled in this date for the developer to present his Project. Please put the meeting on your calendar. If there are any changes we will keep everyone informed through the Four Seasons email blast system. Furthermore, we will use the email system to keep you informed about carpooling etc. We will need hundreds of residents to attend this meeting We are counting on every Four Seasons' residents to be at this meeting. The new project for Reinhardt Canyon is the same as the one Supervisor Jeff Stone presented. The Reinhardt Canyon Community soundly opposed this plan at the March 27 Town Hall Meeting held in the Lodge. The plan calls for a senior community of 330 homes on 40 acres with 150 acres preserved for environmental purposes. The average lot size would be 4500 square feet and the typical home would be 500 to 600 square feet. There would be a clubhouse. They are proposing two possible emergency exits: one through Weir Gate and the private roads in Four Seasons and one to the North that would exit into the KB Homes Development near Warren Road and Cottonwood Avenue. The Community Awareness Committee endorses the Northern Route and adamantly opposes the Route through Four Seasons. We also oppose the number and sizes of the proposed homes. We are presently in discussions with the developer to try to reach an agreement that will work for all parties. The Golf Course Sub-Committee met with Roger Choi, the manager of the Golf Course. During the discussions it was decided to arrange a meeting with EMWD to discuss an increase in the allocation and a reduction in the cost for the water used by the Golf Course. It appears, the biggest expense for is water. It was indicated, if the owners could get a break on their water costs, they could improve the condition of the course. We continue to prepare for the "Great Shakeout" which will be Thurs., Oct. 15 at 10:16 am. There is still time to visit the website: www.shakeout.org/california/ for details, information, and suggestions on how you can prepare and participate. Please consider registering to participate! We are continuing our Emergency Response Plan development and improving our communications and mobilization processes. We will initiate a Mobilization Drill starting at 10:30 am, right after the "Drop, Cover, and Hold On" part of the that morning's exercise. We are always interested in identifying additional individuals with previous experience in medical assistance, radio communications, fire response, or public safety. There is a special need for those residents with HAM Radio experience to contact Bud Paraino so that he can add you to his Communications Plan as potential resources. We also need "scribes" to assist in record keeping and communications verifications. Everyone is welcome to attend our monthly EPC and Street Captains meetings (see monthly calendar). As a reminder, we want continue to encourage all of our residents to be active members of Neighborhood Watch. This is a totally voluntary organization and does not have any official standing with the our homeowners association or its committees, but that doesn't in any way reflect negatively on its importance. We are our neighbor's neighbor, and as a senior community, there is an additional need to be mindful and supportive of each other's welfare and safety. We will meet at the Lodge by 11 am after the "Great Shakeout." Come join us for a "debrief" of the day's activities, and meet your CERT team members! We hope to see you on the 16th!
