13 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | October 2014 | Facilities Committee The objectives of the facilities committee include a "macro" and a "micro" look at our community. There are many big projects that are addressed in the facilities committee such as: • By the time you read this, the tennis courts and pickleball courts will have been resurfaced. And the pickleball courts will also have improvements that eliminate the soft spots. This resurfacing project was necessary to maintain the warranty of the courts (and fix the soft spots on the pickleball courts). There was some inconvenience due to the courts being closed for a period of time but I believe all of the players are enjoying the benefits of this project. • Painting of the Lodge, Pool, Fitness and Guard buildings. Lots of options to decide on for this project (paint vs stucco, what paint, what contractor, when to do it, what colors, etc) • Consider a solar system to heat our pool (what is the cost, what is the payback, where are the panels installed, who does this installation effect visually, etc.) • Consider conceptual ideas for better use of our plaza area. What can be done, how can it be done, should it be done, etc. But in addition to these macro projects, there are the everyday micro ones that are addressed as well: • Installation of an exhaust fan for the Arts and Crafts Room. Some art materials such as oil paints give off an odor that makes working in that environment impossible. The board has approved the installation of an exhaust fan to solve this problem. • Replacement of the bait stations on the patio with a more visually appealing station. Not a big problem but a definite improvement over the appearance when the patio is being used for events. • Refinish the tables in the game room. The tables are showing the wear and tear of many years of service (Mexican Train, Bridge, Canasta, Poker, etc.). After reviewing the options of replacing the tables with new ones (too expensive), putting a cover on top of the table to use for games (not practical) and finding a quality refinisher, the board has approved having them refinished. The vendor will be doing two per week until all eight are done. Each time the committee meets (which is twice each month), the agenda for the meeting will include discussion of on-going projects (both "macro" and "micro") as well as addressing new issues both big and small. We continue to ask for your input on any problem you feel we should be addressing. Please fill out a Resident Communication Form at the front desk at the Lodge. The committee will discuss it, whether Macro or Micro. Thank you from the Facilities Committee.
