Our next meeting is Thurs., Oct. 16 at 1 pmin the Arts and Crafts rRoom. The great news is that a new ventilation system will be installed in our work room by the first of October! This will open up opportunities for new classes in the fall. Andre Lohnert and Lois Stipp will offer classes in oil painting. Please check the sign-up sheets in the Arts and Crafts Room regularly for details about these and other classes and workshops being offered throughout the rest of the year. During this month, Richard Payne, Pat Stocking and Rita Albertson are exhibiting their artwork on our Lodge Gallery Wall while Sherry Hutson is displaying her pottery in the cabinet. In addition, a large model airplane display will be available for viewing in the Lodge in October. A special thanks to Dennis Kenyon and Dennis Harris for their contributions regarding this display. Come and enjoy the works of some of the very talented people in our community! If you wish to exhibit either your art or crafts, please fill out a form and put it in the box in the Lodge. We will inform the people who are chosen three months in advance of their actual display. As of January, 2015, they will be up for two months rather than one month. On Sat., Oct,. 25, in conjunction with the car show, the fine artists of the league will have their annual show in the ballroom, whereas most crafters will be outside under the tents. Four Seasons Art League 21 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | October 2014 | Lilian V. Hansen was born and raised in Scotland. As a young woman, she spent a year working as a secretary in Istanbul, Turkey. At the age of 21, Lilian relocated to southern California and worked in the secretarial field at various companies. She retired and moved to our Four Seasons community in 2005. Lilian's interest in making items such as quilts, yarn scarves, bags and purses began in her childhood when her school offered knitting and sewing classes to the students. Currently, in addition to her original creations which are inspired primarily by color and nature, she enjoys including appliqué work in her quilts which she stitches entirely by hand. Other interests of Lilian's include music and she is currently taking piano lessons. Her creativity brings her joy, happiness and a sense of fulfillment. She loves to share what she makes with others with the hope that they also bring joy and pleasure to them. Our Featured Artist Lilian Hansen enjoys creating original works of art inspired by nature
