The program for the November meeting will be "Decorating for the Holidays" presented by Sun Lakes Florist. MEETING: This month our meeting will be on Nov. 12 at 10 am in the Main Clubhouse. You may make reservations for the December luncheon, make trip reservations, purchase See's candies and renew your membership for next year as well as enjoy the program and refreshments and maybe win a free door prize donated by Cherry Valley Nursery. If you have never been to one of our meetings, you are welcome to a free visit to see what we are all about and the wonderful projects we are involved in. HOLIDAY LUNCHEON: "A Victorian Christmas," on Dec. 10 in the Main Clubhouse Ballroom, 11 am to 1 pm. All proceeds will benefit the Sun Lakes EPAP Animal Rescue Group. Lunch will be cranberry jello salad, ham and scalloped potatoes, (chicken breast on request only at sign-up), green bean casserole, bread pudding, ice tea/coffee. TRIPS: Nov. 18 – Arcadia Arboretum: We will visit the gardens and museum. You may walk the area (wear comfortable shoes), or ride a tram ($5, you pay). Lunch is on your own at the Peacock Café. Cost is $30. Dec. 15 – Holiday Lights in Rancho Cucamonga: Shopping and dinner on your own at Victoria Gardens. The bus will drop us off and we will walk the Electric Avenue to view the lights. Wear comfortable shoes and bring a flashlight. Cost is $25. For info. contact Evelyn at 845-7199. SEE'S CANDIES: We will sell See's Candies at the Craft Fair, in the lobby, on Oct. 31 and Nov. 1. Also at the Nov. 12 meeting and in the lobby on Nov. 19, 20, and 21. CHARITY: Bring your donations of discarded cell phones, eye glasses, stuffed animals and small suitcases to the meeting and we will distribute them to the needy. Also bring in any unused hotel type soaps, shampoos, and other toiletries and we will donate to the needy as well. Call Joan at 845-6715. 18 | sun lakes lIfestyles | nOVeMBeR 2014 | sOCIal CluBs & gROups Garden Club Chorale The Main Clubhouse Ballroom rings to the rafters every Monday morning, as the 120+ members of the Sun Lakes Chorale practice for their upcoming Holiday Concert scheduled for Dec. 5, 6, and 7. Last month, individual sections began extra rehearsals on Thursdays, with Sun Lakes resident Sally Burse again providing her wonderful accompaniment. Our music this year features variations on well-known classics, along with new Christmas and Hanukkah songs, and old, familiar favorites. Ticket sales will begin later this month in the Main Clubhouse Lobby. Watch for us, and don't miss this inspiring annual event.
