If you register at least a week early, we'll be able to save classes that appear to have not met the minimum enrollment. In most cases, we'll also be able to add classes if we exceed the maximum enrollment provided a wait list has been established prior to the first class meeting. Class fees are determined by the number of participants enrolled in each class. For current fees, please contact the class instructor. Due to the number of participants, the class fee may be increased slightly or the class may be canceled. Please join the VNA as they present the latest news in Medicare. A representative from Beaver Medical Group will be on site to discuss what is going on with Medicare and any changes that might affect you in regards to Medicare parts A, B, C and D. In addition to this, they will be discussing the 2015 benefits of multiple Medicare plans, the health insurance marketplace by Covered California and how reform is affecting Medicare and the prescription 'donut hole' in 2015. He will be on hand to discuss sleep disturbances, specifically Obstructive Sleep Apnea and Insomnia. Fri., Nov. 21, 1-2:30pm, Main Clubhouse Multipurpose Room. Please join the VNA as they present information on local care facilities and knowing which one will best suite your needs. This lecture will be presented by Mary Waller of Waller Senior Care (Mrs. Waller is a licensed Placement Specialist). This discussion will talk about nursing homes, assisted living facilities and residential care facilities and what you should know before choosing one. As people get older, they can lose some of their balance and coordination. Pilates increases strength and flexibility in both the core and the legs, which positively affects balance. This increase in stability and balance is a great way to decrease the risk of falls. Pilates is also a great way for older adults to rehab from surgical procedures like a hip or knee replacement. This is all done with lower impact than your traditional exercise. With that said, make sure you check out our Pilates classes that are offered to all residents on Tuesdays at the South Clubhouse from 9:30 to 10:30 am.
