14 | sun lakes lIfestyles | nOVeMBeR 2014 | COMMIttees & news The three Sun Lakes libraries, one located in each of the clubhouses, are an important part of the Sun Lakes community. Have you ever thought about what it would be like if the next time you visited a library the bookshelves were in disarray and not in order? Finding the right book could become almost impossible. Your Library Advisory Committee is responsible for making sure the three libraries are available for you to drop in any time and find your favorite book quickly. In order to continue providing this service, we need to recruit new members for the 2015-2016 calendar years. If you would like to be a member of the Library Committee, please complete The Sun Lakes Country Club Volunteer Interest Form. Blank forms can be obtained at the Reception Desk located at the entrance to the Main Clubhouse. A very successful book fair was held on Halloween, Oct. 31 and Nov. 1. Many thanks to those of you who supported our libraries by visiting the Main Clubhouse Library to purchase your favorite book and enjoy your favorite cookie! The annual library volunteers picnic was held in October at the South Clubhouse. The purpose for the event is to recognize and thank the volunteers whose tireless efforts help keep the libraries neatly organized so that you can quickly find your favorite books. The volunteers were served a box lunch containing a variety of signature sandwiches. Also, there were door prizes and a 50/50 drawing. Everyone had fun and a great time visiting with their fellow volunteers. The volunteers are a group of Sun Lakers who donate their time to keep our three libraries ready for you. If you would like to be a part of this volunteer group, please contact Jill Falat at 797- 3263 and say "How can I become a volunteer." It's easier than you think. If you have any extra books that you would like to donate to the Library, please drop them off at one of the wooden collection boxes located in each of the libraries. If you have any questions, contact either Peggy Inman at 845-8609 or Russ Anderson at 845-9414. Books being donated should be published in the year 2005 or later. Library Committee Landscape & Maintenance If you would like to see Sun Lakes continue to have an aesthetically pleasing appearance and maintain the high standard Sun Lakes' residents have come to expect, please join the Landscape & Maintenance Committee. We meet from 9 to 10 am on the second Wednesday of each month at the Administration Office. Some members of the committee check the conditions inside and outside of each of the Clubhouses once a month and report back to the committee. Some members ride along with the maintenance manager and a member of the landscape crew to check common areas in Sun Lakes once a month and report back to the committee. Individual members may listen to concerns and recommendations of the district delegates and residents and refer such items to the full committee for review.
