COMMUNITY NEWS | FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | NOVEMBER 2014 11 Activities Director Corner By Cindy Graves, Activities Director November is here and my head is spinning that we've nearly burned through an entire year already. We've had some good times together and more good times ahead for a 2014 grand finale. Mark your calendar on Tuesday, Nov. 10 if you want to be sure to get your New Year's Eve tickets. We are growing as a community and we only have 240 spaces for our last dinner dance event of the year. The theme will be "A Roaring 20s New Year" (check the Social Committee's article for more details) and it's going to be a blast, I hope I get to see you there. Nov. 11 is a special day of remembering our Four Seasons Hometown Heroes. Those heroes are the large group of individuals in this community who have served our country in one of the branches of the military. We're very patriotic around here and our veterans mean a lot to us. Please come down to the little "Highland Springs Park" off of Four Seasons Circle (as you go up the hill, near the new Aquatic Center) and join with us at 11 am for a Veterans Day program. We will have a Color Guard, and a simple but meaningful service with music. We will then meet back at the Lodge for some interesting displays and refreshments. This is just one small way we can remember those who gave the ultimate sacrifice as well as say thank you to those who served on our behalf. The long awaited Holiday Craft Boutique will be Saturday, Nov. 22 from 9 am to 2 pm. We will have a full house of beautiful and unique items to help you with your holiday shopping. This is such a great way to jump start all those warm and festive feelings. This event is open to the public, so be sure to get there early. There will also be tons of door prizes given away as an extra incentive to enjoy the occasion. Finally, our Four Seasons Holiday Extravaganza will be two nights, on Friday, Dec. 5 and Saturday, Dec. 6 in the Lodge Ballroom. Each evening will present the same holiday show and choral program as well as dessert refreshments. The play this year is called "Uh-Oh — Here Comes Christmas" and will be put on by the CAST Players. Our own Four Seasons Singers will have us humming and tapping our toes to their lovely musical selections. There will be only 350 tickets given out for each show. You can stop by the Lodge desk to pick up yours on the week of Monday, Dec. 1 until the nights of the performances. These are first come-first served performances, so try not to wait until the last minute. We don't want you to be disappointed if your preferred night is full. I also wanted to let you know that Toby Davis will be starting a Mexican Train Dominoes group. If you are interested in learning more about this group, call Toby (in the Directory) or just sign up at the Lodge on the Interest Clipboard. See you around the Lodge and have a wonderful Thanksgiving! Q. What are the community guidelines regarding holiday decorations and lighting? A. Christmas/ holiday decorations and lighting may be installed without ARC review and are permitted not earlier than Thanksgiving and must be removed no later than Jan. 31. Other holiday decorations and lighting may be permitted provided they are installed no more than two weeks prior to the holiday and removed within two weeks after the holiday. Q. is the main pool heated? A. Yes, the main pool is heated from Easter to the end of October. The Spa Pool is heated year around. (No rules yet regarding the new indoor pool.)
