SPORTS & OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES | FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | NOVEMBER 2014 49
We are a group of guys who gather on Friday mornings to smack
a ball around local affordable golf courses. There is a significant
variance in our skill levels. The goal is to have fun, improve and meet
others who live here in the community. Should you wish to join in
contact Larry Zimmerman at zzman1028@yahoo.com or (909) 553-
2798. You may also reach me at tjacobson@dc.rr.com, (951) 797-3563.
We are a "kick back" group that has diverse handicap skills but we
hope if you are new to golfing you take some lessons and practice first.
That would allow you not only to have more fun and to keep up but to
out do a number of our players. Not all the "complicated rules" of golf
are always followed so if that bothers you we may not be the group for
you.
Lesson for the month from Golf Digest… SWINGING TOO FAST:
If your swing brings to mind a blender on liquefy, time to slow it down.
John Mclean offers this advise on rhythm. Stop off to the side and
saying '1 and 2' with emphasis on the 'and' while practicing swing(s).
The '1' takes you to the top, the slower 'and' covers the all important
pause and transition, and the '2' takes you through impact. Just give us
a call if you would like more information. ~ Tim Jacobson
