Red Hot Seasons
The Red Hot Seasons meets the 4th
Monday of the month at 2 pm in the
Ballroom. New members are always
welcome. Our organization has only one
rule – NO rules! Come visit us to see what
it is all about.

meals will run from $9 - $11. I will need
total number of reservations by Dec. 11.

We have been reviewing some articles on diabetes and thought we would share
just a statement from one of them - "We already have a diabetes epidemic on our
hands". The doctor is talking about the 29 million American adults who have
diabetes. Most have type 2, the kind that's closely tied to obesity (unlike type 1
diabetes, which is an autoimmune disease). There is a fairly large population
– roughly 25 percent – of adults with diabetes that don't know it. And then you
have a third of the adult population that's at very high risk for diabetes.
Type 2 diabetes is a condition in which:
• Your pancreas does not make enough insulin.
• The insulin that your body makes does not work as well as it should.
• Your liver also makes too much sugar. When sugar (glucose) builds up in
your blood, over time it can lead to serious medical problems.
One of the goals of treating type 2 diabetes is to lower your blood sugar.
Lowering and controlling blood sugar may help prevent or delay complications
of type 2 diabetes, such as heart problems, kidney problems, blindness and
amputation.
