Ribbon Cuttings Be Prepared for the BIG ONE At October's Small Business Breakfast Retired Cal Fire Battalion Chief David Avila gave an informative presentation regarding Disaster Preparedness for home and business. David's motto is "be prepared" because he says it's not IF a large earthquake happens it's WHEN. Do not depend on someone rescuing you, you must be prepared to take care of yourself and your loved ones in the event of a disaster. David's presentation included information regarding how much water, food and other necessities one might need in the event of a disaster. He spoke of how to purify water, food and water rotation in your emergency supply container and what kinds of fuel to use. Also how to prepare your house and what to keep in your "to go" bag for your car. Don't forget your pets, they'll need food too. David provided copies of his presentation to the chamber and to members in attendance. If you would like an emergency preparedness plan just stop by the chamber office and pick one up.
