This is the time of year to start thinking of your holiday shopping. The Yucaipa Valley Chamber of Commerce would like to remind our residents to support our small businesses by shopping locally. The City of Yucaipa in conjunction with the Yucaipa Valley Chamber of Commerce will once again host the Winter Fest to be held on Small Business Saturday, Nov. 29. Small Business Saturday is an American shopping holiday held on the Saturday after Thanksgiving during one of the busiest shopping periods of the year. First observed on November 27, 2010, it is a counterpart to Black Friday and Cyber Monday, which feature big box retail and e-commerce stores respectively. By contrast, Small Business Saturday encourages holiday shoppers to patronize brick and mortar businesses that are small and local. Similar to last year, Winter Fest will have plenty of activities for all with a snow play area, kid's fun zone, roving carolers, holiday shopping and craft fair, food vendors, a holiday concert and a tree lighting ceremony.
