CLUBS & GROUpS | FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | DECEMBER 2014 31 We are looking for players, substitute players, and people who are interested in learning the game. I am happy to teach anyone who wishes to learn the game, either individually or in a small group, your home or mine. Pan is a card game, much on the order of gin in some respects, and played with up to eight people at a table. It is played by both men and women, so men are very welcome as well as women. The game can be played in the day, evening, in a room in the Lodge or in private homes. If you are interested, please call me, Linda Mendelson, at (951) 941-9100 or email me at Goldtoy@earthlink.net and I will answer any questions you may have. As all card games, it is played with both skill and luck. ~ Linda Mendelson Pan Solomon Hayes was the club player with the most wins for September. He mowed down all of the other players like they were tall blades of grass that needed to be trimmed. Yes, he had the most wins in July too. The question is, does this make Solomon an exceptional player? Or is he just lucky? The answer is a little bit of both. Reggie Fuqua and I were both riding along beside him and almost mowed him down. We both finished with 13 wins. Solomon decided on chicken wings, potato chips and cake for the entrée of the month. Enjoy the win Solomon you worked hard to win the battle. But watch out, next month there will be a new sheriff in town, with a new mower with sharper blades. Come out and join in on the fun, all are welcome. We meet every Wednesday and Friday from 5 to 9 pm in the Game Room. ~ Marvin A. Gaines Dominoes Chavurah & Havdalah Club We welcome all residents who want to connect to Judaism, its culture, and celebrations. Members enjoy social, cultural and religious get togethers, connect to other organizations in and around the community, engage in seasonal celebrations, and attend Lodge and private home settings to taste varieties of Far Eastern and Mediterranean ethnic foods and drinks, as well as festive holiday ones. Mark your calendars for several celebrations around Hanukkah, the Festival of Lights. Attend a fun holiday committee meeting on Dec. 6 at a private home to plan future events (all are welcome, just let us know via email if you will attend); see the lighting of the beautiful outdoor Hanukkah Menorah and dinner Dec. 16. No party Dec. 20. Instead we will celebrate Hanukkah on Friday, Dec. 19 at 5 pm with a Menorah lighting in the Lodge Lobby. Latkes, cake and Hanukkah music will be provided. Everyone is invited. A new feature will be unveiled Dec. 17 at the Four Seasons Lodge foyer… so don't miss it, along with all the other wonderful events. For more information about these fantastic events, please contact us at chavurah.time@aol.com, tonifiner@yahoo.com, or to talk to a real person, call (951) 769-0351. ~ Toni Finer November's Women's Bible Study lessons were especially wonderful. The first week in November we had a group discussion on trusting others. The group determined that we must trust others with love, through God. We then began a discussion on trusting God, and read and discussed many verses from the Bible on that topic. We finished the month discussing hope. In December, we will study the subjects of perseverance and living a loving life — what each requires, how to accomplish both, and why do either. On Nov. 14 we drew names for a "Secret Sister" project within the group. Specific rules were set, and the Secret Sisters will be revealed at our Christmas potluck party on Dec. 19. The party will feature a Christmas program, several surprises and lots of great food. Prior to the party, we will complete our study of 1 Corinthians 13:1-7 for the year, and will reconvene on Jan. 9, with a new study. All Four Seasons' women are welcome to join the Bible study. Our group consists of women with all levels of Biblical knowledge, varied church affiliations, and are all growing exponentially. We meet in the first section of the Ballroom from 10:30 to 11:30 am every Friday. Our January study will begin on Jan. 9, so if you want to learn more about the Bible, come join us! ~ Eileen Gilbert-Antoine "Believe:" Women's Bible Study
