It has been almost nine months since I joined the Drawing
& Sketching group. I entered the group with about 50 years of
drawing experience behind me, becoming part of an
enthusiastic band of fellow artists, most with no past art
involvement and a few who had never taken a pencil in
hand since high school days.
I have found noticeable improvements within my
drawings over the past several months; however, what
has delighted me more is the blossoming of my fellow
artists, which have all shown great advancement in
their talent as well as enormous enjoyment in what they
produce.
The group meetings under Rob Kelman's stewardship
have developed into social events, during which he
constantly provides guidance and advice while ensuring
each artist maintains their own goals.
I came to the group with the attitude I had nothing
more to learn. In nine months I believe I have become
a better artist and I know I still have more to absorb. If
you know what a pencil and eraser are, then you qualify
to join our band of enthusiastic artists. We meet on
Monday mornings at 10 am and again on Wednesday
afternoons at 6 pm, and we all hope to see you there. ~
