The gallery wall is celebrating the first year at the Lodge. Over 40 of our resident artists and craftspeople have shown their works during this past year. We hope that everyone has enjoyed the variety of talent we have here in Four Seasons. I would like to thank all of the many steadfast and occasional volunteers for their help. Sherry and Jim Hutson, Barb and Dennis Kenyon, Esther Feigenbaum, and various others including my husband, Jerry Hawkins, who probably had no choice but worked with a smile. I want to thank Lucia Wolfer for all her work in presenting this lively and colorful page for the Four Seasons Art Club every month. Thank you all! The December artist for the gallery wall is Lois Stipp and the display case will hold a selection of works from crafters. The theme for the case is Christmas. No fly zone - Dennis Kenyon and Dennis Harris took their model airplanes to the Lodge to have them hung up. This was no small effort as some were ten feet wide! Unfortunately, the ladder at the Lodge was not tall enough to reach the rafters. Thank you all for your efforts. January Classes: Howard Feigenbaum, artist and award winning photographer, will host a free Photography Workshop on Wed., Jan. 21, from 10 am to 2 pm, in the Arts and Crafts Room. Please bring your camera and some pictures you have taken. The sign-up sheet will be in the room in early January. Looking forward: Lois Stipp, our talented drawing teacher, is planning a color class in January. The time and date will to be announced. January brings our first meeting of the year for the Four Seasons Art Club. We will meet on the third Thursday, Jan. 15, at 1 pm, in the Arts and Craft Room. A short meeting will be followed by a demonstration of a portrait drawing by Andre Lohnert. He will be presenting a two-day workshop on painting portraits with oils. This portrait class will be on Sat., Jan. 17 and Sun., Jan. 18. Andre will be available to answer questions about supplies and photos needed on your subject after his portrait demo on Jan. 15. Future plans are to include a workshop on still life painting. ~ Nancy Hawkins, Co-Chair Four Seasons Art League 21 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | DECEMBER 2014 | On Sat., Oct. 25, in conjunction with the car show, the fine artists of the Four Seasons Art League held a show in the Ballroom while most of the craftspeople had their show outside under a tent. The "Be a Part of Art" quilt, was created by many of the residents who wanted to join in. They signed their name along with doodles, drawings and more inside a designated square. The finished "quilt" is currently displayed in the Lodge for all to enjoy. Our talented and experienced teachers offer many classes including acrylics, tole painting, tatting, memoir writing, watercolor, drawing, oils, calligraphy and more. For information about these classes and upcoming workshops, check the clipboards and sign up in the Arts and Crafts Room. Please contact co-chairs Barbara Kenyon (951) 537-8779 or Nancy Hawkins (951) 926-2465 for any questions about our club and its activities. Happy Holidays to all. "Be a Part of Art Quilt" on Display
