The Happy Campers RV Club meets at 9:30 am on the first Saturday of each month. Our meetings as well as membership in the club are open to all residents. 2014 has been a good year, with several well attended trips. In early spring the club traveled south of Hemet a few miles to Tucalota Springs RV Park and Campground. The park is situated in a beautiful grouping of old oak trees, with a small zoo, a swimming pool, club rooms, and a catch and release fishing pond. This nearby venue seems destined to become a regular stop for the Happy Campers. Just prior to the summer rush, the club ventured up to the Western Sierra foothills and Columbia, CA. This adventure was ably led by Jimmy and Linda Bryan. We stayed at the 49er RV Ranch which is next to Columbia State Historic Park and in the midst of beautiful rolling wooded hillsides. A group took a day trip to nearby Yosemite National Park and others viewed the Giant Sequoias at Calaveras Big Trees State Park, the longest continuously operating tourist facility in California In early fall, the Happy Campers departed on a 15 day journey to Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks in the Northwest corner of Wyoming. The group was led by Russ and Karen Brown, staying in Mesquite, NV and Salt Lake City Utah along the way, then making the Grizzly Campground and RV Resort in West Yellowstone their base camp while touring Yellowstone. Next the group traveled a couple hours south to Grand Teton National Park staying several nights at the Colter Bay RV Campground on the shore of Jackson Lake while touring Grand Teton and Jackson Hole as well as the town of Jackson, Wyoming. Year after year the Happy Campers RV Club has continued to grow. We now have an active membership of over 40 rigs (travel trailers, fifth wheels and motor homes) and about 80 members. We have a great time while traveling and at our monthly meetings, we hope you will consider joining us. Our next meeting will be held on Sat., Dec. 6 beginning at 9:30 am and will be a "planning meeting." At this meeting, we will entertain ideas from everyone present for trips to be taken throughout the coming year. We will attempt to pencil in dates, or at least approximate time frames for each of the destinations selected, so that we can begin to plan and organize the clubs 2015 travel agenda. If you have an interest in joining us on one or more trips during the year we would love to have you present at the December meeting to share your ideas and energy.
