| Four Seasons Hemet Herald | DECEMBER 2014 | 6 December is a special month for many reasons. There is much activity happening around the Lodge. Volunteers set up the "Treats for the Marines" display and collection bins to benefit the Marines stationed out of Twenty-nine Palms and their families. The Salvation Army, (with the help of our residents donating many gifts) will be setting up a tree. There is also a "Holiday Home Tour," and a few other events that will be provided by an amazing group of talented, dedicated volunteers. I can't wait to see the Lodge when all of the holiday decorations are put up! This year, the outside of the Lodge and our Main Entrance will also be decorated. Not only that, but the Lodge, Spa Building, Pool Building, both Gatehouses and the parking lot light poles will have been painted. The parking lot was also seal coated. I encourage all of you, during this holiday season, to invite your family and friends to come see your beautifully decorated Lodge and its surroundings. As I've said before, we have the most beautifully decorated facility in this town (right behind the Mission Inn!) We are blessed with a lot of giving, generous people who dedicate a lot of their time to this endeavor. Please take the time to "thank" them. Or better yet, if you have never volunteered to help decorate the Lodge, please do so next year. One maintenance item that I'd like to point out involves the "Legends" homes. The item is the garage lights that light the alleyways. There are many homes where the light bulbs are not working. If several lights are out in a row, the alleyways are very dark. Since daylight savings has ended, it is dark a lot earlier in the evening. Please check that your photocell is not obstructed and install an energy efficient bulb. It will pay for itself in a couple of months but the bigger benefit is a safer, well lit area. In case you were not aware, Four Seasons is comprised of 1,106 homes, close to 2,100 residents, 130+ acres of common area, six resident board members, 13 committees (several serving in an "Ad- Hoc" capacity), 120+ committee volunteers, numerous on and off-site vendors and service providers. Speaking of them, we have two new vendors to welcome to our community; Calico Janitorial Services and Allie Barton Security Company. As this year winds down, I would like to acknowledge our management staff members who, without their collective efforts, would make managing your community very difficult, if not impossible. We are very fortunate to have a staff that cares about serving you and strives to do their best to overcome the daily challenges that come with managing a senior community. Those individuals who make this happen are: • Mari Salazar, Assistant General Manager • Louise Ceccarelli, Activities Director • Michelle Restle, ARC/Administrative Assistant • And our Lodge attendants Brenda, Janet, Jim, Jamie, Tracy and Bradley. We also want to acknowledge our board of directors; Hal, Tony Ken, Greg Ross and Russ, who give many hours of service to this community and most importantly give us their full support. As we look forward to the holidays, may you and your loved ones enjoy the peace and blessings of the Chanukah and Christmas season. A Message From Your General Manager By Rick Ruth, CCAM
