OUR YUCAIPA | JANUARY 2015 7
One evening an old
Cherokee told his grandson
about a battle that goes on
inside people. He said, "My
son, the battle is between 2
"wolves" inside us all.
One is Evil. It is anger,
envy, jealousy, sorrow,
regret, greed, arrogance,
self-pity, guilt, resentment,
inferiority, lies, false pride,
superiority, and ego.
The other is Good. It is
joy, peace, love, hope,
serenity, humility,
kindness, benevolence,
empathy, generosity, truth,
compassion, and faith."
The grandson thought
about it for a minute and
then asked his grandfather:
"Which wolf wins?"
The old Cherokee simply
replied, "The one you feed."

The Power
of Words
Words can inspire.
And words can destroy.
Choose yours well.
~ Robin Sharma
I know that resolutions are on
everyone's minds this time of
year. Instead of suggesting some, I
thought I would share some words
that may inspire more than just the
typical "lose weight" or "make more
money." I have a sign hanging
over my front door that I see every
time I leave my house. It says, "You
can't unsay a cruel word." Simple
sentence, very true, and it has
made me a little bit better. Words,
arranged in just the right way, can
really make all the difference.
There are some beautiful,
thoughtful and sometimes funny
quotes I've collected on the
following pages. If something
touches you, cut it out and put it in
a place that you will see every day.
Hopefully, it will make you a little
bit better too.
