soCIal Clubs & gRoups | sun lakes lIfestyles | JanuaRy 2015 | 19 It's that busy time of year for all of us. That's right, the holidays are here! None are busier than The Mystery Theater elves that have been tirelessly working behind the scenes on the upcoming "That's Entertainment" show, "The Music of Guys and Dolls (& More)." Save the date! Confirmed dates for the show are Feb. 26, 27, 28 and March 1. Here is a bit of trivia for you on the origins of the Mystery Theater's "That's Entertainment" show… Jan Staple tells us it began with Jan Holden in the late 90s and Sun Lakes resident Jan Staple was the original producer. Jan states she had a wonderful time producing the show and loves that the Mystery Theater makes it bigger and better every year. Did you know that this year's very talented director, Michael Owen, hails from Britain and his love of the theater began at the tender age of 11? A teacher advised the mischievous Michael to join the school's drama club. Well, he did and as they say, the rest is history. He went on to perform on the stage and radio in the UK, Middle East and the US. Michael's interests these days are in the form of producing and directing. He has been involved in many notable productions since moving to Sun Lakes, one of which was producing and directing The Banning Centennial Show in 2013. Did you know this year's choreographer is the very talented Susan Fitzpatrick? Her love of dancing began at the age of three, singing at the age of eight, and acting since age 12. She began choreography during her 2nd year of teaching. Susan tells us she believes that everyone should contribute as long as they can. She does it now in an area that she loves, theater, so she will have no regrets later. Watch for future announcements and tidbits from behind the scenes on the very talented people who are bringing you this year's electrifying production! Have you always wanted to direct, do set lighting, set design, or stage managing, but don't know how? Here is your opportunity to learn from the experts. We are looking for people who are interested in broadening their horizons and becoming an assistant to the pros. If you are interested please contact Bill Shova at 845-0547, or Lou Evans at 769-8556.
