We had our annual holiday brunch on Dec. 10 in the Lodge
Ballroom. It was a great success enjoyed by all with wonderful
food, decorations and lots of holiday spirit. After welcoming
everyone, Anita Worthen introduced our speaker, Corporal
Galbraith of the Beaumont Police Department, who gave a short
and very informative talk about dealing with panhandlers in
our city. He explained that we are a generous community and
the word has been spread among the panhandlers to come and
we will give. Galbraith explained the many reasons we should
not do so, and how to deal with the situation.
There was a special sign up table for anyone who would like
to be a block captain, along with a poster showing those streets
still in need of one. If anyone is interested in being a block
captain or co-block captain, contact Jill Anderson at (951) 760-
3063.
