Our group is bursting the walls of the Billiards Room! Consistently we have over 20 members playing billiards on any given Tuesday. Although we have a wonderful time together, this group has the potential to grow even more with all the new homes being built. Therefore, proactively, we voted on a few changes. Beginning Jan. 6, we will be holding two sessions of the Billiards for Fun Group: (1) 11 am to 1 pm; and (2) 1 to 3 pm. We will still pull peas at each session, and the rules of play will be the same, but we are hoping we won't be stumbling over each other anymore, and no team will have to have a "bye." There is already a practice group held on Saturdays from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm, spearheaded by Mike Saperstein, as well as a women's group that meets every Monday from 2 to 4 pm for instruction and/or practice, led by Dee Kelch. As a last hurrah for 2014, our group met at Ron and Judy Erickson's home for an amazing evening of laughter, camaraderie, fun and lots and lots of great food and spirits. It was a party to beat all parties! (We're secretly hoping Ron and Judy volunteer to make this a yearly event.) We received Board approval to mount our own bulletin board and group photo in the Billiards Room, which was accomplished in December. We're very proud of them, so come check them out the next time you pass the Billiards Room. (See our group photo above.) Now that we have so many options to choose from, we welcome anyone interested in joining a great group of wonderful people who enjoy the game, while honing their billiard skills and making lasting friendships.
