CLUBS & GROUPS | FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | JANUARY 2015 35 Happy 2015! Hope your holidays were great and you're holding to some of your New Years resolutions. In fact, I'd like to offer you one more. Repeat after me: I will get more involved with the Performing Arts Club." Job well done! Now, I expect to see you at either our upcoming audition or offering your assistance as crew, stagehands, producers, directors, writers, or our desperately needed sound engineer/technician. Being part of one or more shows doesn't make you committed to attending meetings on a regular monthly basis, unless you want to. Producers, directors and writers will need to attend meetings during the couple of months preceding their shows but not beyond. If you've ever been on a stage, even dating back to grade school, this is your opportunity to regain that feeling again. Is being on stage on your bucket list? If everyone reading this dares one friend to audition for "Friday Night Live," we'll hopefully have lots of new talent to showcase at our next show. C'mon! I dare you to do it! "Friday Night Live," a take-off of Saturday Night Live, will be March 20, 6 pm. It will feature an opening monologue, newscast, several skits, musical and comedic acts. We would also love to have a rock and roll band. Auditions for "Friday Night Live" will be held for all acts on Wednesday, Jan. 14, 6 pm, in the Lodge Theater. Some scripts will be available for the spoken word auditions. For musical and comedic (magician, ventriloquist, comedians, etc.), please bring your own material. The audition sign-up sheets are in the Lodge lobby across from the desk. UPCOMING EVENTS: Last month I told you what was coming up but not when. Since you know that the Performing Arts Club has been bringing you better entertainment year after year, I strongly suggest you get your 2015 calendar and write these dates down: March 20, 6 pm: Friday Night Live May 30, 6 pm: Radio Shows July 4: Patriotic/Americana Show Aug. 14, 6 pm: PG-55+ Comedy Show Oct. 23, 6 pm: Radio Shows Dec. 4, 6 pm: Holiday Show Dec. 5, 6 pm: Holiday Show Plus there is a possibility for one or two additional Friday Fun Nights. Not too bad for free entertainment! I think the next time I see my fellow members I'll give them a pat on their backs. Good job, all! Any questions, terimk@verizon.net. ~ Teri Meyers-Kelman Performing Arts Club We will resume Tuesday evening meetings on Jan. 13, at 7 pm in the Lodge Ballroom. Doc Sellars will be facilitating a six week study of New Testament verses dealing with the themes of resurrection and the kingdom of God. We will rely heavily upon N. T. Wright's book, Surprised by Hope, and the book's study guide will be available for purchase (optional/$9) at the first meeting. Everyone is welcome! Please call Doc or Letha Sellars with any questions at (951) 797-3302. ~ Doc Sellars Life Guide Bible Study
