While working in the library I heard a resident tell a visiting friend, "look at our library!" That's exactly right. This is your library. We are a committee of volunteers who give our time and energy in keeping the library in good order. You are providing the books and we appreciate you. We have had an over-flowing book problem lately. We have received an abundance of hardbound books. We have made another major contribution to the Hemet library of the older, 1980's and 1990's books. We want to have as many current novels as possible. Even if your books are in the 1990's that's 15 years old. Please check the copyright year and donate 2003 and up. Thanks. Our non-fiction section is filled with biographies and a broad range of interesting topics. Please go to the front desk for help in selecting a book on that top shelf. Please do not stand on a chair or use the lower shelf as a boost to reach them. A travel section was started and we could use more books. Check them out in the lower shelves. We never accept technical books and actually the downtown library doesn't accept them either. Our magazine rack holds three months of donated material. As of this writing please bring, December, January and February magazines for us to display. After reading them please be sure to return them for others to read. Paperback books are accepted dated 2011-2015. We have had a lot of fun putting pictures of our "younger" selves in the newsletters. This month will complete our group of librarians (unless newer ones provide pictures) and there have been some of you who actually did guess whose picture was in that month. Committee member Cookie read Nights of Rain and Stars by Maeve Binchy. I needed a lot of "drop out" time with the holiday rush and ended up reading three very different great books. The Nights of Rain and Stars was a book that I looked forward to as if I was reading about old friends. The story takes place in a small village, Aghia Anna, in Greece. Eight travelers from different parts of the world are brought together when sudden tragedy strikes the village. They are forever changed by their experience. You will be pulled into the travelers lives, rooting for some but not others, and fall in love with the people of Aghia Anna. It is a charming book that will hold your interest. Find it in the hardbound section. Library Committee | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | February 2015 | 14 Guess which library committe member this cute baby grew into? Facilities Committee BARK! BARK! BARK! WHO LET THE DOGS OUT? We love our pets! We also care about our neighbors and the appearance of our community. How can we help make a positive difference in maintaining a clean, safe and quiet environment? By showing consideration when caring for our dogs. Listed below are some positive suggestions by Four Season pet owners: • Keep our dogs from barking excessively and disturbing our neighbors • Walk our dogs on a leash to keep them safe and avoid disturbing others • Pick up after our dogs when they make a deposit • Dispose of our dog's deposit in a proper and considerate manner • Consider professional dog training – It really works! Our community is a very special place. We enjoy our beautiful surroundings when driving, biking, walking and talking with our neighbors. Our Association fees provide the grounds and repair maintenance that gives us an oasis in the Hemet Valley. Showing consideration for our neighbors can only make Four Seasons the second "happiest place on earth."
