COMMUNITY NEWS | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | FEBRUARY 2015 | 7 It's February and love is in the air with Valentine's Day right around the corner. Please remember to share the love by helping keep our community beautiful by following these helpful tips: • Pick up after your pet and dispose of waste properly. • Pick up litter you notice in the community and dispose of it. • Make sure household trash is bagged, secured and disposed of in a timely and appropriate manner. • Put trash cans in within 12 hours after trash is collected. Thank you for taking pride in the appearance of our community. Your cooperation is appreciated. ~ Heather Killian CCAM, Planning and Compliance Manager Planning & Compliance News Recreation Director Message Winter Watering During the fall and winter seasons Sun Lakes Country Club's Operations Department recommends that landscape watering be reduced. Most plant material doesn't require as much water as it did in warmer months. Most plants go dormant in fall and winter and while they often look wilted or brown, they actually require even less water. In fact, plants can require roughly 50 percent less water during this season. By reducing your landscape watering you prevent water waste during the current drought as well as possible slip and fall dangers from water run off onto sidewalks and walkways that freeze in the evening and early morning hours. If you would like to report water waste please provide as much of the following information to the Operations Department at (951) 769-6644. • Address of where the water is being wasted (including nearest street or intersection) • What type of waste is it? Runoff? Broken sprinkler? Overspray? • Is the waste continuous and ongoing? • How severe is the leak or runoff? ~ The Operations Department I would like to start off by thanking all of the residents for making 2014 a terrific year which ended off with a bang at the outstanding NYE party. Now with the New Year underway, keep a look out for all the exciting upcoming events. Remember you can gain information about all of the upcoming Recreation events by checking out your monthly Lifestyles, tuning into Channel 97 on your television set and also by checking out the Sun Lakes website. This year we have a plethora of new and intriguing events like our first Chili cook-off in April and a Doors Tribute band coming to Sun Lakes in September. These plus a number of other events and concerts are sure to please. ~ Jason Ewals
