February is the month of "love." Why not take the time to learn something new and different, maybe even difficult. When you learn something new, you feel a sense of accomplishment, a sense of pride. You love yourself more. When you combine learning something new with exercise, you physically feel better; you may even stand more erect. What can do all that, you ask? Try line dancing. You don't need a partner. You don't need to coordinate your movements with anyone else. Are you afraid you will look silly and be embarrassed? Don't worry, everyone in this class is helpful and forgiving. All of us had to be a beginner at some point, and all of us miss a step (including me) and look silly at times. This adds to the camaraderie. You will be taught one step at a time. Each dance you learn makes learning the next one easier. You will feel a sense of accomplishment and pride. You will not only get exercise, but meet new people and form new friendships. Join us, every Tuesday in the Lodge Ballroom. Beginners 3 to 3:45 pm. Advanced 3:45 to 4:30 pm. ~ Martha Franck 32 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | FEBRUARY 2015 | CLUBS & GROUPS Class hours are Wednesdays from 4 to 5:25 pm for beginners and 5:30 to 6 pm for intermediate. See you on the dance floor. ~ Priscilla Robles Heart & Soul Line Dance Line Dancing We dance with a partner in the Ballroom. Nothing stuffy. No judging or exhibition. People of all sizes, shapes, ages, backgrounds and experience do it. It's just fun to move with the music and interact with others. We learn differently and we dance differently, but above all, we enjoy ourselves and enrich our lives. Our dancing is gentle, sociable, fun, flexible, friendly, spontaneous, expressive, satisfying, kind, adaptive, confidence building and very rewarding. While our professional instructors challenge us to learn new things, they also understand our limitations. And with their patient guidance we learn many steps and routines that can be used at weddings, dance parties, social events, on cruises, and anywhere we can dance. ~ Willis Fagan Ballroom & Social Dance Top Left: Line Dancing, Country Two step – you name it, we have it Above: Christopher Landry and Shine provided live music for our dancing enjoyment Bottom Left: Disco or Twist, Latin or Swing, Slow dancing – fun or everyone
