14 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | MARCH 2015 | COMMITTEES & NEWS March is a busy month and the beginning of spring fever! It is a time when we think about how to support our favorite SLCC Library or hopefully, all three of them. March 20 is the first day of spring and a great opportunity to do some spring cleaning around your house. While you're at it, you may find some used books to donate (published in 2005 or later). Your library is also looking for large print books and classics with any publication date. March 17 is St. Patrick's Day and March 21 is the Spring Craft Fair and the First Book Fair for 2015. While you are at the Main Clubhouse visiting the Spring Craft Fair, be sure to drop by the Library Book Fair to browse at all of the books available for you to purchase at a great discount. Be sure to ask for your free cookie! Now that we've talked about all things spring, let's not forget to mention "spring reading." Spring reading is defined as making time necessary to select and read your favorite books during March. Become an avid reader and challenge your friends and neighbors to a reading contest to see who can read the most books by the end of March. Do you accept the challenge? Our libraries are looking for new volunteers. The volunteers are a group of Sun Lakers who donate their time to keep our three libraries ready for you. If you would like to be a part of this volunteer group, please contact Lorene Sowashat 769-9999 and say "How can I become a library volunteer?" As spring approaches, remember your New Year's resolution to read more books and challenge yourselves to become a more prolific reader. Hope to see you browsing the bookshelves in each of the three Sun Lakes' libraries!
