SEES CANDIES ARE BACK: Easter is coming. The ladies of the Garden Club will be selling candy on March 11 at our regular membership meeting which begins at 10 am, then on March 21 at the Spring Craft Show in the Main Clubhouse Ballroom. April sales will be on April 1, 2, 3 and 4 from 9 am to 2 pm in the Main Clubhouse. For more information on sales and times please call Maureen Keeney at 797-0011. MARCH PROGRAM: Wed., March 11 at 10am in the Main Clubhouse Ballroom: Our featured speaker will be Roxanne Bon speaking to us about drought tolerant plants. Roxanne will happy to take your questions and provide answers for you. With having water shortages and not looking like it is going to get any better, this program is very timely. MEMBERSHIP: A big thank you to the 20 plus new members that were signed up in January. We welcome new members year round. We also appreciate those who renew their membership. Come join us on March 11 at our membership meeting. Sun Lakes Garden Club dues are $15 a year. Checks are payable to the Garden Club. Sorry, but we cannot accept cash. Info., LaNelle at 769-7947, or Suzi Messick at 769-7945. TRIPS: On the books right now is a trip to the Colton Garden Festival. Also the Idyllwild Lilac Walk, Tea, Art Show and Boutique are on May 2. The cost is $55 each, inclusive. This is a lovely event and is hosted by the Idyllwild Garden Club. The Art Association is the sponsor of this well attended event. Get your reservation in quickly as it sells out right away. For more information on any of these trips please call Evelyn Hawkins at 845-7199 (cell 616-4542). FRUIT PICKERS: The fruit picking group is an eager bunch of people that are ready to pick the fruit that you or your neighbors cannot use. This fruit is freely given to the kitchens that feed the hungry and they hate to see it go to waste. Please call Doris at 769- 3990 or Pat Shibata at 769-0316 or Carolyn Wright at 797-3568. CHARITY: We cannot thank you enough for your generous donations of soaps, shampoos and other toiletries. These items are always in demand in the groups that give people a helping hand. Joan Blumenfeld collects and donates the discarded cell phones, eye glasses, stuffed animals and small suitcases to the appropriate charities.
