46 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | MARCH 2015 Racquet Club We had a great turnout for our latest end-of-the-month Play Day. Participants included Larry Zimmerman, Irve Sturner, Romy Villena, Julie Stayner, Lovey Cook, Rick Loney, Richard Carrasco, Syed Ali, Garrett Warman, Howard Levine, Hilario Luna, Steven Hovey, and the Nelsons. No, not Ozzie and Harriet, our own Mickey and Howard. Once again, competition was stepped up, because the Nelsons were awarding tickets for the drawing for every game won. At the end of the day, when the presumed honest Syed Ali was chosen to do the ticket drawing, the first ticket drawn was his own. Thus, he was awarded the top prize, a collectible CD by the Eagles, donated by Barbara Miller. Not wanting to buy a $40,000 car with a CD player in it in order to listen to the Eagles, Syed re-gifted his prize to Lovey, who already has a CD player. The second prize went to Rick Loney, who is now the proud owner of one of only 35,000,000 Farmer Boys Scarecrow bobble heads. Mr. Nelson has guaranteed that in 20 years the Scarecrow will have a worth of $1,000 at Sotheby's. Given that, Howard will be 105 years old in 20 years and it's unclear whether Rick will be able to collect the $1,000 guarantee. Several events are in the planning stages for upcoming months. We are looking forward to having a large contingent travel out to Indian Wells for the Qualifying Rounds of the PNB Paribas Open. Admission will be free on March 9 and 10 to watch professionals try to qualify for tournament play, with women playing on Monday and both men and women playing on Tuesday, beginning at 11 am on Stadiums 2 through 9. These professionals are really good, even if they are not yet big names on the tours. Additionally, we added a hosted lunch event to be associated with the French Open, which runs from May 24 through June 7. Details will be forthcoming for the members wishing to participate. We are also joining with other Four Seasons' sports clubs for the ASAP, or All Sports Associations Party proposed for May 16 in the Lodge. Be on the lookout for details about that event, too. Reminder, the March Play Day is scheduled for Saturday, March 28, and all residents are invited to play starting at 8:30 am. Our website is www.fsbrc.org. ~ Steven Hovey
