12 OUR YUCAIPA | MARCH 2015
The rains have turned our hills green, finally, and Yucaipans are heading to the trails. It's a great
way to spend a couple of hours out in the fresh air and sunshine. Pack some water and a snack,
pop in your ear buds and get out there. Spring is a great time to go outside and enjoy the insanely
perfect weather we take for granted. Challenge yourself to walk one trail every weekend for the
month of March with your friends, family or your dog. I bet by April, you'll be hooked.
And don't forget your smartphone — there are so many apps that will track your
distance and pace. Before you know it, you'll have twenty miles under your belt.
And keep an eye out for me. I'll be the one walking with Doug.
the hills are alive, with the sound of hiking

"Shadow is our new Australia Shepherd
mix adopted from the Devore Animal
Shelter. Shortly after adopting Shadow
we realized this sweet three month old
pup was blind. Shadow is an amazing
hiker & absolutely loves all of Yucaipa
awesome trails. Richard Kersten
couldn't be happier with his new
buddy!" ~ The Kerstens (and Shadow)
