50 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | APRIL 2015 What a great day and what super attendance we had for the first Multicultural Evening of Gospel Music. Our own Cookie Bonner and Cindy Graves did a spectacular job putting it all together. Who knew we had such talent in our community? Our Master of Ceremony was Warren Herd. What can you say about him except bravo! We give special thanks to our performers; Edward White opened our program with the Lord's Prayer sung acappella. It was the perfect start to the program and he was great. Oh, did you know that he is Betty Ann James' son-in-law. Nancy Lechner played the piano and sang. She also accompanied Ann Savy on the flute. They were great. We had a special appearance from a local church, The First Missionary Baptist Church of Banning. The Praise Motion Dance's ranged from age six to fourteen. They were wonderful. They were followed by the Voices of Truth, a gospel group. They brought their own pianist and guitar player. It was a hand clapping performance. By the way, they were special guests from Wanda Valentine's church. Rosa and Daniel Galaraza, our neighbors, sang a duet. Rosa also did a solo. She has the voice of an angel. They were awe inspiring. Our neighbors David Chorba and John Noonan rounded us out with famous songs like Amazing Grace and Hallelujah. They were wonderful. What can I say about Cookie and Cindy? They not only put the program together, they performed. Who knew they possessed those talents? They were superb. From all appearances the crowd went home joyful and happy that they shared in the evening. When you see any of the performers in the Lodge, go over and tell them how much you enjoyed them and what a great job they did. They truly deserve our thanks and gratitude. Tell Cookie and Cindy if you enjoyed the program, if you would like to see this program continued, and if you would like to contribute your talent next year. Special thank you to Cookie and Cindy. Well done. As always, we are striving to be a viable part of our community, If you have a skill or talent you would like to contribute to our group, come and join us. We meet every other month. Our next meeting is Monday, May 4 at 6 pm in the Lodge Card Room. For more information contact Betty Ann James at (951) 572-5538. ~ Roxie Elliott African American Culture Club
