36 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | APRIL 2015 At our March meeting, we had presentations from two members who had self-published books based on their life experiences. One was a career school teacher, the other had been on a Coast Guard icebreaker that had crossed the Northwest Passage over the polar region. We discussed the whys and hows of self-publishing, which does not usually mean printing it yourself, but rather contracting with a composing and printing company to produce a "package" for a set charge. You get a quantity of finished books at a wholesale price, which you can then sell or give away. At our April 7 meeting we will discuss writing personal essays, unless one of our members comes up with a better idea. We seek to provide help for the writing endeavors of all our members. We welcome guests or new members at any of our meetings. If you are not a member of the Four Seasons' Writers' Club, but you have written something (whether or not it has been published), and you would like to share it with us at a future meeting, please contact me at phil.bond.writer@gmail.com. We meet the first Tuesday of each month from 1:30 to 3 pm, in the Lodge Ballroom. Will we see YOU there? ~ Phil Bond Writers' Club Classical Music Club Computer Technology Interest Group We are classical music lovers with an interest in sharing our love, knowledge, and interest in classical music. Also in March, 35 homeowners signed up for our group. If you are interested in joining the group, just sign up at the Lodge front desk. Be sure to include your email address so you can be notified of future presentations and classes. The next meeting of the group will be on April 14 at 10:30 am in the Lodge Ballroom. Our guests will be a team from the local Best Buy store. Team leader will be Eric Tschudy, the store manager, and he will be accompanied by members of his staff. They will demonstrate new equipment, products and gadgets as well answer questions from the audience about cell phones, e-readers, tablets, computers, printers, maintenance, and problems with equipment. This will be a good opportunity to learn about various technology issues. If you would like to attend this free presentation, please sign up at the Lodge front desk before Friday, April 10. In the future there will be subjects such as communications over Internet, social network, computer infection, identity issues and anti-virus software. For those who are interested, there will be the 22nd Southwest Technology and Computer Conference from June 12 to 14 at the Kellogg-West Conference Center and Hotel at Cal Poly, Pomona.
