Chances are you have thought about writing your life story.
Perhaps you are a member of the "Greatest Generation" and
want your children to understand and remember the values
that shaped your life. Or maybe you are a "Baby Boomer"
who is reaching retirement age and finding you have an
abundance of memories and time to record them.
We all know people who are born story-tellers and can
make the most mundane experience seem like enchanting
adventures. We envy the spell they cast on their listeners
who seem to hang on their every word. It's a gift, you
may say. Perhaps… but writing an interesting story also
involves skills that you can learn, practice, and apply.
My Memoir Class will introduce you to those skills. For
novices and more experienced writers alike, my course
presents techniques long used by fiction writers to craft
compelling characters, places and stories. It shows how
to apply these techniques to writing an unforgettable
narrative. And, at the same time, have fun sampling great
desserts. Please join us Tuesdays, 2 to 5 pm in the Art
Room. For info., call Eleanor Rosenbaum at effieboot@aol.
com or (951) 223-3375.
