HEALTH & SPORTS CLUBS | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | APRIL 2015 | 39 Transitions often require time, energy, hard work, and determination. The same can be said for weight loss. There are so many things that we may not have control over like illnesses or injuries, natural disasters, and other people. Why not give our best effort to change what we largely do have control over? Taking a proactive approach to weight loss, nutrition, and wellness offers us an opportunity to live better and enjoy life more! Even when we slip up, make mistakes, or have gains, we know that every day is a new beginning, and we are doing all we can to live our best and healthiest life possible. We would like to invite you to visit our TOPS chapter once free of charge and see what we are doing to help people in our community become healthier and more active. We meet at the South Clubhouse each Thursday, with weigh-ins from 9 to 9:50 am, and meeting from 10 to 11 am. The following TOPS members were named "Best Losers" of the month: Brenda Day, Agna Harper, Grace Simms-Franklin, Yvonne Adams, Linda Inforzato, and Marla Henrich. KOPS (Keep Off Pounds Sensibly) at their goal or under are Pat Bonarigo, Linda Callahan, Patty Chesnut, Dorothy Monterville, Fran Rayner, and Nora Van Wert. Great job! Congratulations to Brenda Day and Janice Walsh, our lucky winners of the 50/50 monthly drawing. This fundraiser helps defray expenses to our State and International Conventions coming up in June and July. Please check out our TOPS Chapter Royalty, and 2014 Yearly Award Winners to be announced in the May issue of Lifestyles. Congratulations to all, we are so proud of you! For information on how you can become a TOPS member or visit our TOPS chapter, please contact Rosalee 845-9313. Tops (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) Low Vision Support Group Join us for the new Low Vision Support Group. We meet the 2nd and 4th Monday each month from 10 am to 12 noon in the Main Clubhouse Multipurpose Room. The purpose of this group is to empower visually impaired people to live fulfilling lives. We will share information regarding the basics of blindness and visual impairment. We will discuss the emotional impact of sight loss and how to cope with the changes in lifestyle. During each meeting we will have a speaker and provide tips on how to safely get around your home and community. Resources will be developed to help our group. Info., Rita Skwara, 267-3054.
