| Four Seasons Hemet Herald | June 2015 | 6 Summer is almost here! In reviewing past articles to begin this month's article, it occurred to me that the theme of my past June articles focused on three things; residents walking in the streets, water conservation and babies in diapers being allowed to dip their toes in the pool. The walking issue is ongoing. Regarding water conservation, I've mentioned this subject in many articles since 2008. Our valley's water supply has now diminished to a point that we are in a full blown drought and this month, Eastern Municipal Water District moved into stage four-of its drought response plan. Please check out their website for the latest information on how to conserve and reduce your water consumption. The website is www.emwd.org. In light of this, many of you may be contemplating changing out your existing plants and turf. If you are, please be sure to fill out an architectural application before you begin any improvements. If you have questions, please stop by the Lodge office and talk to Michelle Restle. She is happy to assist you in the process. It will be well worth your time. Guests: if you are bringing guests to the pool you must register them. During the week, register them at the front desk. On Saturdays and Sundays registration takes place at the pool. Please take time to reacquaint yourself with our guest rules. Several reminders about this very subject have been published in past Hemet Herald articles. Check out this excerpt from my June 2013 article: "One last thing; guests with small children wearing diapers are not allowed in the pool. Does that mean you can remove the diaper and now it's okay? No! If there is an incident the County Health Department requires the association to close the pool, drain it and refill it. This takes at least two to three days and costs the HOA close to $1,000 for labor and water. Please consider the consequences and use common sense when bringing the grandkids!" Guess what? The price to refill the pool because of a fecal incident just quadrupled. Here's an excerpt from EMWD's Website: Stage 3: Mandatory Waste Reduction Mandatory reduction of excessive water use enforced though changes to EMWD's water budget-based tiered rate structure and observation-based penalties for violations of the water use efficiency requirements. Changes to the tiered rate structure will be set according to one of the following levels: Stage 3a: No variances or adjustments will be allowed for filling swimming pools, establishing new landscapes or leaks that are not repaired within 48 hours. Please note: Customers can still use the necessary water for pools and new landscapes but will likely go over their water budget, resulting in a higher price point. So, please do not let your grandkids with diapers in the pool. Consider the cost to your fellow residents. Lastly, have a good June and to those who are taking off for the summer; enjoy your vacations. You've earned them! A Message From Your General Manager By Rick Ruth, CCAM Photographers!
