11 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | June 2015 | Crumbs from Cookie… Surprise! I forgot that I retire the end of May so we'll need to put up with a few more crumbs from Cookie! Much has been happening to wind things up for the new leadership. It's been a busy month. We would like to welcome Doyle Braden to our wonderful team. Doyle will be our minister- on-call for Sunshine. My husband and I have been privileged to know Doyle for a few years and if you need some spiritual help coping with a loss, he has a gentle heart. Thank you Doyle. Please note that the Sunshine Business Meeting day has been changed to the first Monday of the month. This was necessary for Margie's team to attend. Do remember we consider Four Seasons a part of Sunshine. If you want to volunteer to bake, set-up or clean up after a celebration, just call Margie. Before I leave, I must thank Judy Bailey again for the love she gives to the new widows by creating a tie purse. I ask for a special tie from the widow, present it to Judy, and, as if by magic, she turns it into a beautiful purse. It is a wonderful memento for the spouse. Several were made and delivered this month. You are a special Sunshine angel, Judy. Jeannette Roberts spoke on nutrition on April 15 in the Ballroom. So many of you gave us positive feedback on her talk. I am sure Margie will have her speak again. In the beginning of her talk the power point part of her program just would not work. She dealt with it just fine. If you missed Jeannette's talk, we have a new service for the community. Our historian, Dave Habig, is video recording all the Sunshine programs. You may now go to the front desk and ask to borrow the recording on nutrition. Dave was even able to work her power point into the recording. He works wonders with a camera and recording equipment and lives in Four Seasons. We will have three months of programs available at the lodge for you to borrow. I believe Mary Hrinko's talk on "50 Ways to Support a Caregiver" is also at the front desk. We also had Dave take pictures of the Sunshine Team. In this month's newsletter is a picture of my competent, caring and compassionate team. Goodbye to the best team ever. I love you all. Thank heavens I had Margie to help me this month. She is so easy to work with and will be a great leader. It has been a hard month for the community. We send our love and sympathies to Cathy Dale who lost her beloved husband, Don, in April. Don was an important member of the Hemet Four Seasons golf club. Don was one of the founding fathers and past president of the club. We send our sympathy to all members of the Dale family. He will be sorely missed here. Our love and sympathies also go to Jean Robinson who lost her beloved Vern Thomas in April as well. Jean was so fortunate to have the whole family there. A home celebration was held and Sunshine provided desserts. Our heartfelt sympathies go to all the family members. We send our love and sympathies to Jerry Tripp who lost his beloved Mary in April as well. Margie delivered Sunshine sweets for the celebration of life that was held after the service. Mary will be missed by many. We send our love to the Tripp family. The family of David Munson delivered a notice of his passing in April as well. David had been a long time Four Season resident. He was a retired chiropractor who helped many residents with back problems. We send the Munson family our love and sympathies. Clifford Brown lost his beautiful wife, Gloria, on April 29. Gloria was a true "diva," always dressed in style and traveled the world with the love of her life. We send the Brown family our love and sympathy as well as her beautiful dog, Abby Brown. She always said that Abby was her best friend. The community is saddened to learn that Joyce Clark passed away in early May. We send her beloved husband, Hal, our love and sympathies. Their children: Harry, Jim, Charles and Sunshine Team "Those Who Bring Shine To The Lives Of Others Cannot Help But Bring Shine To Themselves" Sunshine Team continued on the next page
