Many things that your volunteer committees do are very
visible to homeowners. Things like our Facilities Committee
work on resurfacing the Association Streets, the Landscaping
Committee's planning for tree trimming, and the Access
Control Committee work on our gates. However, there are
other things which are behind the scenes.
A couple of examples of these which your Facilities
Committee, along with the Euclid Management Team, is
working on is the replacing of the majority of the lights in the
Lodge with LED bulbs. After investigation of many types of
bulbs and fixtures, the Committee recommended the change
to the Board of Directors, and they approved this expenditure.
For an expenditure of less than $10,000, we will save over
$25,000 of electricity a year. We are now investigating this
same installation in the Spa/Exercise Building.
Another example is the installation of the new solar panels
behind the sports courts that will allow us to save a large
amount of gas usage and related costs for heating the pool
and spa. This installation was done with a rebate from the
Gas Company and our total net outlay was one dollar. We also
continually work with our Facility related vendors to find ways
to have them do their jobs more efficiently or do additional jobs
for the same cost. We will continue to try and find ways to save
costs so that your Finance Committee and Board of Directors
can work to keep your HOA dues as low as they can be.
