Our additional 11 am session has been working very well!
We have at least three tables filled each time, which alleviates
the congestion of the 1 pm session. We also have had more
new faces join the group: Cheri Howard, Alex Vanhoose and
Mike Fisher. They are great contributors to the all-around fun
time we have each Tuesday. (See photos of group members
concentrating as they prepare to take their shots!)
For anyone that works or doesn't have a Tuesday free, we also
have an informal practice session on Saturdays from 10:30 am
to 12:30 pm. If you are reading this article and always wanted
to try billiards (pool), we also have an in-house instructor just
waiting for you to call her and begin free private lessons!
We all voted to have quarterly in-house tournaments as well.
On May 12 we held our second quarterly tournament of the
year (partner play, and double elimination), and winners will
be announced in the July issue of the Breeze, as well as pictures
of the winners with their prizes! Our group participated in the
July 4 club competitions (single play and double elimination),
so the group is looking forward to that as well. Our next
quarterly partners tournament will be held on Aug. 4. Fun!
Our formal sessions are held every Tuesday from 11 am to 1
pm or from 1 to 3 pm, as well as the Saturday practice sessions,
all in the Billiards Room. Our group is happy and fun, and we
all enjoy the good-natured competition. If you would like to
join us, or have any questions, drop by the billiards room any
Tuesday between 11 am and 3 pm and ask for Pete or Eileen
