If you guessed that the Yiddish Culture Club has gone wild about the Old West you are right! With help from our resident playwright/director/ actress Linda Vieira, and cast members David Greenberg (Marshall Matt Dillon), Art Lewin (Sidekick Chester Goode), Denny Rugenstein (Doc Adams), Linda Vieira (Kitty, owner of the Long Branch Saloon), Saloon Girls Marilyn Forhane(Queenie) and Betty McMillion (Annie), Jim Frasher (Boss Henkel, Banker), Don Forhane ( Ben Silas, Gunslinger), and Ted Grady (Bartender Sam) be prepared for an evening in the Old West as the YCC Players present "Gunsmoked," a melodrama. Everyone is welcome to join in this exciting and rollicking evening. Jeans and boots are okay. Cowboys should check guns and hats at the door. When? Wed., June 10, 1898. OOPS! Sorry, the date is June 10, 2015! Time? 7 pm. Place? The Long Branch Saloon (now called South Clubhouse.) Members $3 pp, guests $5 pp entry fee. Drinks and grub are on the house. Dues are still only $15 pp and should be sent, with a completed membership form which is available in Main Clubhouse, to Pat Corrall, 5826 Lake Buena Vista, Banning, CA 92220 or given to Pat at the meeting. "A Twist of Lemmon," starring Chris Lemmon, son of world renowned actor/ comedian/musician Jack Lemmon, is our featured show for June 7. Chris' tribute to his famous father began with his Father's Day memoir, "A Twist of Lemmon." It grew into a highly acclaimed theatrical box office hit, and is currently headed for LA's Broad Stage, after highly successful runs at Chicago's Royal George Theatre and The Laguna Playhouse. Chris is an expert musician, composer, and stage actor, having graduated with two degrees in Fine Arts from the California Institute of the Arts. His more than 30-year career has included over 25 feature films, TV series, and numerous stage productions. His 90-minute, one-man show will be presented without intermission. Tickets are $20 for members, $25 for non-resident guests. Doors open at 6 pm, and the show begins at 7 pm. Make checks out to Friendship Club, and drop them off at 5168 Rio Bravo Drive.
