FRIENDS WE WILL MISS | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | JUNE 2015 | 41 Joan S. Williamson Our blessed friend, and loved one, Joan Williamson, has departed this earth and has entered her eternal heavenly domain to be with her Savior, husband, and family that have gone on before her. Joan was raised as a young child near Cape Town, South Africa. She met the love of her life, Jeoffrey Williamson early in 1961 in South Africa, while she worked as a model and accountant. They came to USA together for Jeff to pursue his occupation as a race car driver. He was a wonderful mechanic and his occupation changed from race car mechanic /driver to camera manufacturer. Joan was the CEO of the camera manufacturing company even after her husband's passing. Throughout her life she was very active in her church and choir. When Joan retired she moved from Yucaipa to Sun Lakes and got involved with The Sun Lake Chorale. Her final few years were spent with her adopted McCuistion family back in Yucaipa. Besides her great love for music and God's Word she loved spending time with her friends, traveling and going to musical performances. She looked forward to visits from her family from South Africa and had much fun taking them to spots of interest in the states. Joan was a wonderful prayer warrior. She had a fun loving, God given graceful attitude toward all those she touched with her presence. She will be greatly missed. Joan's older sister, Winifred Spring preceded her in death, but Joan is survived by her brother, Lionel Young, sister Mavis Adderly, and three nieces Sandra Roos, Germaine Krog, Colette Young, and her adoring adopted McCuistion family.
