16 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | JUNE 2015 | SOCIAL CLUBS & GROUPS On Sat., June 20, members of the DDC have an exciting event. "Razzle-Dazzle" (dance attire and shoes) will have items on display to look over and order. This is a great opportunity to shop for new dance shoes or that special dance wear item. Razzle-Dazzle will have the items available for you to shop throughout the evening. At 5:30 pm, Ralph and Marilyn Yates will continue their Nightclub Two-step dance lesson. The lesson is free and lasts for a half hour. Come early so the lesson can begin on time. The band for the evening is Sophisticats and they will begin playing at 6 pm for your listening and dancing pleasure. Now that we are in the summer months, "dressy casual" attire is recommended for the evening. The menu begins with a carrot-raisin salad and offers three options for the entrée: 1) Chicken in BBQ sauce served with scalloped potatoes and zucchini chips for $20; 2) Pork Ribs with scalloped potatoes and zucchini chips for $21; 3) Black Bean Patty served over Spanish rice and with a cilantro slaw and salsa for $19. Our dessert sounds wonderful… a crème brulee! In order to enjoy this wonderful evening, you will need to sign-up for this event on Thurs., June 11 in the Main Clubhouse Multipurpose Room. Table selections will begin at 2:30 pm so come and complete all paperwork before that time. If you have signed up but find that you are unable to attend, please contact Carol (845-5962) before 3 pm on the day of the dance. She will help you get your meal to take home to enjoy. Come ready for a great evening! Dinner Dance Club There are no formal Country Western functions in June. The club has just completed its 22nd year. This year, from last August though May, we learned 33 line dances, ten different couples dances and were able to show these accomplishments at our Country Western Ballroom dances. To all Sun Lakes residents, if you think you might have an interest in learning about the activities of the Country Western Dance Club, we will have a free introductory dance in August. No charge and no obligation. Just come see what our club is about and, if you want, learn one or two basic line dances and a basic couple's dance. The introductory dance will be Fri., Aug. 28, at 7 pm in the Main Clubhouse Ballroom. Mark your calendar and plan on coming. Check our Lifestyles article in July and August for more details. We would like you to know that Country Western dancing is unique in that everyone, singles and couples, are equally welcomed to come learn a dance, meet some friendly people and have a good time. Not too thrilled with country music? We dance to many different music styles including rap, pop, Latin, Italian, French, rock or to any other music we like. Have questions? Need information?
