IMPORTANT NEWS: The June membership meeting date has been changed to June 17, the third Wednesday of the month. Our June program will feature Roxanne Bonn from the Beaumont Garden Center. Roxanne will be speaking with us about Irises and bulb plantings. On Aug. 26, Evelyn is offering a return trip to the Grand Traditions Estate and Gardens but this time it will be an evening event. Enjoy the Orchid Bar, which is a new attraction at this popular destination. The flames from the central fire pit seem to dance to the beat of the music. Guests gather to enjoy great food, innovative signature beverages, stunning views and staggering sunsets. You may tour the grounds on your own at your leisure or just hang out at the Orchid Bar. Soft drinks are also available for purchase as well as food. The bus will depart Sun Lakes at 3:30 pm and will return at 9:30 pm. Make your own party. GIFT BAG PROGRAM: Please continue to bring your contributions of shampoos, conditioners and soaps. These are given to several of our local charity groups that help others in need and are always appreciated. Sometimes it is the smallest of things that can make a difference. FRUIT PICKERS: Please don't let the fruit on your trees go to waste. The Garden Club has a group of fruit pickers that are ready and willing to come pick your or your neighbors excess fruit. CHARITY: We continue to be amazed at your generosity of donations of cell phones, eye glasses, stuffed animals and small suitcases. The groups that can repurpose these items are very appreciative. These funds are what funds the charities that the Garden Club supports over the year. GARDENING BOOKS: If you are interested in gardening books the Garden Club does have informational books available to check out for your personal use.
