8 OUR YUCAIPA | JUNE 2015
Yucaipa Genealogical Society
Well, it's spring cleaning time. Did you just find a box full of old
family pictures and say "now what do I do with these?" or "who are
these people?" Maybe find a file drawer that has documents you're
not sure are important any more. Help is available!
The Yucaipa Genealogy Society meets the second Saturday of
each month year round in the community room at Yucaipa Library
at 12040 5th St., beginning at 11:45 am with a workshop presented
by President Floyd Ferguson followed by a refreshment break then
a guest speaker. Wi-Fi is available as well as access to the Yucaipa
Library and their collection of books to check out.
Sat., June 13, we will be presenting a panel discussion featuring
members of the YVGS discussing their family research projects and
sharing ways to do research with use of the Internet or books and/
or trips to areas of ancestral homes and historic museums. Many
ideas will flow so be sure to join us and learn how to get started with
a family history project or how to pick up where you left off a few
months ago.
We look forward to seeing all of you curious (really, aren't you just
a little bit curious) about your ancestry. Genealogy study is for all
ages including students who are presently enrolled in programs at
colleges offering degrees in Archival Studies.
Dues are $20 per year. For info., call (951) 769-4454.
