May Open Session Board Action Items • The Board appointed Gene Wilcox to the Golf Advisory Committee, with a term ending December 31, 2015. • The Board approved to amend the Golf Advisory Committees Charter. • The Board approved a rule change pertaining to the Age Verification Survey. • The Board approved a rule change pertaining to the permitted health care residents and qualified resident's verification. • The Board approved a rule pertaining to golf shoes being worn in the clubhouse. • The Board approved a proposed amendment to the architectural guidelines pertaining to exterior lighting, exterior ornaments/ objects, solar energy, address plates, security cameras and trash cans for publication for member comments. • The Board discussed the results of the Dog Park survey, with 21 percent of the responses voting in favor of a dog park and 79 percent voting against it. The Board will not be constructing a dog park in Sun Lakes. • The Board discussed the topic of prohibiting smoking in all common areas. • The Board denied a request from the Marketing Advisory Committee to investigate the possibility of having an in-house real estate broker. • The Board approved a request from the Marketing Advisory Committee to incorporate the Welcome Home Program into their committee. • The Board approved a request from the Bingo Advisory Committee to donate to the Sun Lakes Charity. • The Board denied the request to add additional pickleball/paddle tennis courts. • The Board approved a request for sponsorship from the Banning Stagecoach Days. • The Board approved a request to lien 8 delinquent property owners. • The Board approved a resolution to write off $14,325.12 in bad or uncollectable debt. May Executive Session(s) Action (non-confidential) litigation, member discipline, formation of contracts, and personnel matters discussed: • The Board instructed legal counsel on certain litigation, potential litigation, and assessment of related matters. • The Board received and considered legal advice on litigation and potential litigation issues. • The Board met with representatives from Pinnacle Designs and Jester Design Inc. to discuss a possible golf turf reduction program on the main golf course. • The Board received and considered a settlement request, from a homeowner, on 2014 and 2015 past golf dues. The Board approved a payment plan. • The Board received and considered three proposals for the replacement of the Recreation Department workhorse vehicle. The Board approved the replacement, with the purchase of a Yamaha Adventure Super Haler from Davis Planet Air, Inc. for $10,999.99. • The Board received and considered three proposals to repair the partition wall in the Main Clubhouse. The Board approved the repairs to the partition wall, which will include new acoustic carpeting coverings and new door handles, with Omni Concepts for $10,956. • The Board received and considered three proposals to install a back-up Generator for the Main Clubhouse Kitchen. The Board denied this proposal due to the current excessive cost. • The Board reviewed a Member Request for Refund on Annual Golf Membership. The Board approved this request. • The Board received and considered three proposals for the Replacement and Placement of the Pottery Kilns. The Board approved the replacement of the kilns at a cost of $ 7,850.26 • The Board reviewed a resident request for a parking variance. After careful consideration, the Board denied the parking variance. • The Board reviewed the proposal for completion of proposed turf reduction plans on the Championship Golf Course.
