19 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | July 2015 | The Sunshine Team has had a change in the leadership role. Cookie Scott and Donna Holland have retired after four very productive years leading the Sunshine Team. They left Marge Culton and Marilyn Rhyne with a well-organized and caring team. We have all benefitted from their commitment to our community. Did you know Sunshine has twelve committees with two or more members involved in important tasks? We want to highlight a team each month so that our community is aware of the purpose of Sunshine. Fifteen to twenty cards are sent out monthly to our neighbors. Some cards carry our deepest sympathy in the loss of a loved one; some are for neighbors who are struggling with illness or injury; and some are cards to let our neighbors know we are thinking of them. We also send out thank you cards for Sunshine donations and to our speakers who present at our special monthly meetings. This job takes a lot of organization and a willingness to get the cards out in a timely fashion. We appreciate this job and it is done so very well. This committee felt that it was unfair for them to be mentioned first so we're going to reveal all the names to you as the year rolls along. Since our last Herald input, we have had two memorials. Joyce Clark's services and remembrances took place on May 22. Many Four Seasons residents were present as well as her family and many friends from her past, the video of the Clarks reminiscing about their life together was a beautiful and a wonderful way for us all to remember her as a person full of life and a with a great sense of humor. The Dale family also had a beautiful memorial for Don at Miramar in San Diego. Many of his Four Season friends as well as golf friends from the Four Seasons Golf Club were very impressed with the military service. So far in late May and early June, we have had two more deaths. We were very sorry to hear that John Dowie passed away. His wife Cindy is honoring his wishes and having a private memorial for close friends and family. Phyllis Galitski also passed away. Sunshine is waiting for her husband Bob and her family to make their plans for a celebration of life. We will assist in any area they wish. Our sincere condolences to both families. On a lighter note, the Health Fair was very successful. Thank you notes have been sent to all who participated to make this a special event. We hope to have this every year as it is always well attended. We would like your input about our monthly events. What topics interest you? How many? How often? We are a service organization and want to be of service to our community. Please fill out a *NEEDS* Form at the Lodge Front Desk if you know of someone who needs assistance. Also, our bulletin board in the Multipurpose Room reflects current contact and resource information. "May sunshine and loving thoughts carry you through your day." ~ Team Sunshine Sunshine Team "those Who Bring Shine to the Lives of others cannot Help But Bring Shine to themselves"
